Snapchat conversion API With GA4
I implemented the Snapchat Conversion API (CAPI) integrated with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to improve tracking accuracy and campaign performance measurement. The goal was to ensure first-party, server-side data sharing while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations.
What I Did
→ Configured Snapchat Conversion API using Google Tag Manager (Server-Side)
→ Connected GA4 events (purchase, lead, add-to-cart, sign-up) with Snapchat CAPI events
→ Implemented data mapping & hashing (SHA256) for user identifiers (email, phone, etc.)
→ Ensured real-time event forwarding from GA4 to Snapchat Ads Manager
→ Set up deduplication rules to prevent double-counting between Pixel & CAPI
→ Tested & verified event accuracy in Snapchat Events Manager and GA4 DebugView
→ Integrated tracking with Snap Ads campaigns for improved optimization and attribution
Results & Impact
Improved conversion match quality for Snapchat Ads
Reduced data loss from iOS14+ and browser restrictions
Enabled cross-platform reporting by linking GA4 & Snapchat Ads
